The TNT Fundraiser has become an annual spring church family favorite event. Over the years, the focus of the event has become to raise funds to support First Pres Maumee's student ministry summer experiences for students in grades 6-12. In addition, and just as important, the event gives the church the opportunity to come together as a community to sing, dance, laugh, share a meal and use the gifts God has given them to support the students and be in fellowship with one another.
This year, the TNT Fundraiser was scheduled for Saturday, April 25. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 situation, the event was cancelled for this spring. This cancellation was a disappointment for our church community and student ministry as students were getting prepared to practice their musical pieces and skits. Also, new to this year’s event, students were going to be sharing with the audience the ways in which they have been using and developing their talents through school and extracurricular activities by displaying and discussing items such as artwork, engineering projects, and working with animals.
Additionally, there were many folks who were preparing, or had prepared, items for the live and silent auction, which is part of the event each year. It is always a blessing to witness people using their talents and skills to create items of meaning and value which raise funds for the students. The donations and created items for the auctions are greatly appreciated and valued by the student ministry and those who take them home the evening of the event.
While this spring’s event was cancelled, the TNT Fundraiser will be held again in the future and the church community will once again be together in fellowship and to support First Pres Maumee's student ministry. In the meantime, to provide a lighthearted moment in these challenging times and to look forward to the next TNT, here is a fun video Pastor Clint and Pastor Jason created for last year’s event.
