Audio/Video Technician

About Worship & First Pres Maumee: We are a church family engaging each person to enrich our community for God's glory through Jesus. That's our mission. Established in 1820, we are a community gathering place in Maumee and the greater Toledo area of more than 200 years. Anyone is welcome. We offer two worship services, a Modern Service with music led by a modern band, and a Traditional Service with music led by organ.

Job Description: To help produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound and video reinforcement. This includes but is not limited to creating the best music mix possible, creating an audio mix that enhances the atmosphere that the Worship Ministry leaders want to design, supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the church service, and capturing the service and its elements to livestream to at-home congregation members. Ultimately working to glorify God by providing excellent audio and video enhancements for in-person and online worshipers. 

Time/Schedule: Sunday mornings, 7:45-10:30 or 7:45-12:00, 2-4 Sundays per month depending on the needs for the day and month. There will be flexibility in scheduling 

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Technology and the Director of Worship & Music, the Audio and/or Video Technician is responsible for:

  • Setting up and operating equipment for musicians and leaders in worship
  • Performing sound checks, includes gain settings, monitor mixes, proper volume setting, and eq/mixing process
  • Mixing sound for in-room worship and for online video streaming
  • Monitor sound throughout rehearsals and services
  • Test and resolve equipment issues
  • Video recording for live-streaming, using multi-camera, ATEM live video production switcher

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Willing to learn and respect the church’s beliefs
  • Able to work in team settings and take direction
  • Experience mixing audio successfully in the live environment
  • Experience running (or willingness to learn) ATEM live video production equipment 
  • Have good communication skills
  • Ability to think quickly and react/trouble shoot properly in high stress situations
  • Willing to attend training and read/watch other training material for improving existing skills
  • Ideally, the candidate will have experience in both audio and video, but experience in only one area is also acceptable

  • Hours are flexible based on the Director of Worship & Music’s discretion.
  • Additional Special Services or Special Events may be offered
