GROUP MISSION TRIPS: WORKCAMP
Group Mission Trips and First Presbyterian Maumee are supporting an area workcamp, one of 25 work camps held across the country this summer from June 28 - July 4. Up to 440 high school students and adults from around the country representing many Christian denominations will be coming to our area to work on between 60 - 70 homes for the week while being housed at Maumee High School. This team of people will provide up to 12,000 hours of volunteer labor and $35,000+ in materials during the week as they assist elderly, disabled, and low-income families with home repair projects they cannot manage themselves. Both labor and materials are free to qualifying households.
House and mobile home owners within an approximate 30 minute drive from Maumee High School can apply for their home to be a work site for the week in the areas of: porch repair/construction, step repair, exterior painting, interior painting, weatherization, wheelchair ramp repair/construction, mobile home skirting, and minor roofing (no tear offs or full replacements). Applications to be considered for a work site can be found below, in Friday's FYI, or on the Information Desk. Applications are due by February 28. Please turn forms in to .
